I'd like to help with the newer packages, but it seems that people.debian.org is down at the moment, unfortunately (well, I can't access anything there from my computer).
Paradoxically, I will probably not use OOo myself, as I'm quite happy already with LaTeX (and my own customized style) and gnumeric, but I intend to have OOo in shape for some users and students.
