Package: openoffice.org-gtk-gnome Version: 1.1.3-8 Severity: important Hello,
I can't seem to get any open/save file dialogs (including export to PDF) to work with the GTK/Gnome file plugin. I'm running OOo on powerpc, up-to-date sid. To reproduce: 0) sudo apt-get install openoffice.org-gtk-gnome 1) rm -rf .openoffice .sversionrc # to make sure nothing weird is going on 2) openoffice foo.doc 3) Tools->Options->OpenOffice.org->General: uncheck "Use OpenOffice.org dialogs", click OK 4) Try to select one of File->Open, File->Save As, File->Export as PDF, etc. At this point two things happen: a) A pop-up dialog says "An unrecoverable error has occurred. All modified files have been saved and can probably be recovered at program restart." b) In the console from which OOo was launched, the following is printed: libgnomevfs-ERROR **: file gnome-vfs-cancellation.c: line 133 (gnome_vfs_cancellation_cancel): assertion failed: (gnome_vfs_is_primary_thread()) aborting... sh: crash_report: command not found Now the OOo GUI continues to exist but is no longer responsive and must be forcibly killed. If one then starts up OOo again and re-checks the toggle from Step 3, the file dialogs (OpenOffice.org versions, of course) work perfectly fine. Please note that despite the text of the error message, the presence or absence of the openoffice.org-gnomevfs package makes no difference. Also, I do not have prelink installed. I tried running soffice.bin under gdb to get a backtrace, but it wasn't very useful: Program received signal SIGABRT, Aborted. Let me know if you need more info -- I'm on powerpc if you want me to try a version with debugging symbols compiled in. I haven't tried to reproduce this on x86, but I assume it doesn't happen or someone else would have reported this by now. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: powerpc (ppc) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-powerpc Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages openoffice.org-gtk-gnome depends on: ii libatk1.0-0 1.8.0-4 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-20 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libgcc1 1:3.4.3-12 GCC support library ii libglib2.0-0 2.6.3-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-0 2.6.2-4 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libpango1.0-0 1.8.1-1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libstdc++5 1:3.3.5-12 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libstlport4.6 4.6.2-2 STLport C++ class library ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12 X Window System protocol client li ii openoffice.org-bin 1.1.3-8 OpenOffice.org office suite binary ii xlibs 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12 X Keyboard Extension (XKB) configu -- no debconf information regards, -- Kevin B.
