Would anyone be interested in packaging this for Debian? It provides
similar functionality to the QuickStarter for Windows

OpenOffice.org Quickstarter http://segfaultskde.berlios.de/oooqs/

OpenOffice.org Quickstarter is a small application that runs in the KDE
SystemTray.
It is used to quickly start the different OpenOffice.org modules without
having to go
   through the K-Menu.

But instead of simple starting of applications, you can also:
     * select multiple files in the usual opendialog provided by KDE to open
them in
       OpenOffice.org
     * use a history of recently opened files
     * configure the app to do one of the functions described above on a simple
double click
     * use the app to keep a hidden instance of OpenOffice.org in memory to
achieve much
shorter startup times of the OpenOffice.org modules.

Note: The keep-in-memory-feature won't work reliably at the moment.
If you experience problems like an instance of OpenOffice.org Writer
starting again and
again please turn off the OpenOffice.org quickstart-mode in the
configuration dialog.
To be able to see the configuration dialog longer than 1-2 seconds in such a
case, you'll
have to keep it in front permanently by selecting the option in the context
menu of the
entry in kicker's tasklist or in kasbar.

I'd be willing to add it to our apt source and mirrors until OOo gets into
the archive.
