X crashes with OO

Browsing certain MS Office documents and pressing page down makes X crash ("X 
IO Error"). This seems to be a problem inherent to OO, not of the debian 
implementation. Anybody got a clue? 

Matrox G550, woody, X 4.1 with the Matrox driver.
