Package: openoffice.org Version: 1.1.2dfsg1-1 I use Debian Sarge and upgraded to the latest version. I am printing via Cups on a different machine that also runs Sarge on an HP Laserjet 4+. The default paper format is always set to "US Letter". I can change it in the "Printer Settings" dialogue as well as in the settings dialogue that comes up right before printing. I change it to A4, but after I print all settings are back to "US Letter". Also the printing output is "US Letter". My print server doesn't seem able to change this and so the printer becomes stuck trying to load "US Letter" paper which is not available in Europe. Resetting the printer or deleting the job doesn't work, because the job is already sent. So I have to switch off the printer while I restart the print server. The lp0.ppd file in /etc/cups/ppd includes the following settings: *DefaultPageSize:A4 *PageSize Letter/Letter: "<</PageSize[612 792]/ImagingBBox null>>setpaged evice" *PageSize Legal/Legal: "<</PageSize[612 1008]/ImagingBBox null>>setpagedevice" *PageSize Executive/Executive: "<</PageSize[522 756]/ImagingBBox null>>setpaged evice" *PageSize Statement/Manual: "<</PageSize[396 612]/ImagingBBox null>>setpaged evice" *PageSize A4/A4: "<</PageSize[595 842]/ImagingBBox null>>setpagedevice" All this would result to not being able to print at all from OpenOffice.org. But while I rediscovered that the problem is still there today I deleted the .openoffice directory (and .sversionrc) and restarted openoffice. Then I was able to normally print. After discovering that the problem returned I tried to reproduce this solution, but was unable to do so for some reason that is not known as of yet. I am pretty perplexed as to this whole affair.
