Package: libreoffice
Version: 1:6.1.4-3
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I installed the latest version 6.1.4 of libreoffice from buster. When
trying to to launch libreoffice, I get an error message:

    $ libreoffice
    /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/javaldx: error while loading shared libraries: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
    Warning: failed to read path from javaldx
    /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice.bin: error while loading shared libraries: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

As a workaround, if I set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH to the location of, libreoffice launches correctly:

    $ locate
    $ LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$(dirname $(locate$LD_LIBRARY_PATH libreoffice

I get the same issue with version 6.2.0 in experimental.

kind regards,
Christoph Terasa

That setting is even not needed. See below.

Which *ARE* what you set in your LD_LIBRARY_PATH manually.

And LO is picky about library search paths given it's "let's find our
libraries because we don't know where they are"-approach.

But good: Closing.
