oldoldstable is out of /official) support and thus unusported. I see you Cced LTS but it's not thir job to fix upstream shortcomings. Does it also happen on supported versions?
The dropdown to select the default language only has an unqualified (either 1901 or 1996) “German (Germany)”.
Two? Or one? Two would be another case of https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1124119
I have hunspell-en-gb and myspell-de-de-1901 installed, and when I click the Edit button next to hunspell, I can see that it sees both languages as having spellcheck installed, but the Default Language dropdown only shows one.
I would argue it's thet dictionaries' bug by not conflicting against hunspell-de-de any then providing de_DE. I don't link it's LibreOffices job to pick up any random dictionary anywhere anyhow imho. Regards, Rene
