org-mode is even better! A very significant benefit of this style of software is that the resulting outline is accessible to people who are not familiar with org-mode. Many of the proprietary task managers, on the other hand, design their own proprietary user interfaces that one must learn even if one only wants to view the tasks. I have unfortunately never learned it enough to compose in org-mode, but I can of course read it.
