dh_perl wants debian/tmp ?!

Hello

debhelper 3.5.0's dh_perl always says:

-=(~/debian/perl/libprpc-perl-0.1005)$ dh_perl
Can't stat debian/tmp: No such file or directory

But according to the policy and recent coding standards we should use
debian/libprpc-perl/ as subdir for the installation.

Any hints what's wrong here?
