I do have one question though. Updating the packages is a matter of recompiling them with the new perl installed, but should we update the Build-Depends to perl (>= 5.8.0) to be sure that on all arches the new packages will be built with the new perl ? I guess so. If that's the case, you will have to explain this in your d-d-a mail also.
