No, it doesn't rely on the _package_ splay. eMusic contains the actual GPL'd splay program itself, slightly modified to work as one of a few audio format player plugins.. The original question was basically asking if a GPL'd mp3 decoder can go into main, as it seems that the only thing keeping splay out of main is it's dependance on qt. Same question about the FreeAMP player, really..
