I think you're right about needing a legally recognized entity. I would suggest assigning the copyright to SPI using an assignment similar to the FSF one: http://egcs.cygnus.com/fsf-forms/assignment-instructions.html It really only needs to be signed by people who have made major contributions. I wouldn't worry about small patches and minor changes. Dan
