I sent a more explicit proposal to the maintainers of syslog-ng and sysklogd and later even filed wishlist bugs on them. The syslog-ng maintainer answered: SZALAY Attila <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Arthur Korn wrote: > > system-log-daemon: Packages providing something that reads > > messages from /var/log, provides /usr/sbin/syslog-facility and > > rotates it's default logs if it has any. > > > > kernel-log-daemon: Packages providing something that reads > > /proc/kmsg or uses ioctls to obtain kernel logs. I'm already waiting for several months and have no more ideas how to contact him. I'm not shure wheter we could just proceed ether -- he is the maintainer of the standard system logging package in debian. Oh, his name is Martin Schulze <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. ciao, 2ri -- 0 and 1. Now what could be so hard about that?
