Having read all the posts pointing out that debian packages don't need to follow LSB, I would like to suggest that we add the status option for init.d scripts to policy. I would very useful to find out if a daemon is running using a standard method, rather than having to do ps auxw | grep food and hoping that fact that a process is running means that the daemon is still working. Whether debian follows the LSB standard is a matter for discussion after it has been decided to include the status method. - -- David Pashley [EMAIL PROTECTED] Nihil curo de ista tua stulta superstitione. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE82jV5YsCKa6wDNXYRAn+sAJ4pajchmSnph1il+NXKpdynDW6rPQCfbMzC 7R4QZEcRK1CKyLzYyv4FxBs= =JXuI -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
