Hi,

        This is still not a policy bug. The policy mentions a field
 that is useful in its own right, even if the tools have not yet been
 enhanced to recognize it. So the tools do not know all that policy
 fields that exist. They shall in time. Policy is not documentation
 for dpkg and apt.

        Already, the presence of this field enable the package to
 inform the  human who is installing stuff that some package enhances
 others. This is useful even without apt and dpkg knowing about it. 

        I think one should get ones head out of the tools-hole-in-the-sand
 and realize that people installing debian are humans,and they may
 have a modicum of intelligence, and follow these hints.

        apt-cache, st least, does show the enhances field.

        I am yet again closing this bug.
