Source: developers-reference Severity: wishlist By implementing GR 2007/03 we have now "Debian Maintainers" for quite a while already. There seems to be some confusion about their role and several workflows seem to yield to confusions. Thus, please document:
* when a person should be a advocated as a DM (e.g. grab ideas from [1]) * what are limitations of DM uploads (e.g. think of backports, proposed-updates and such). Note backport uploads should be working by now. * who and when to set the DMUA flag. In particular many DMs seem to set that themselves and get criticized for that on mailing lists (e.g. [2]) [1] http://wiki.debian.org/DebianMaintainer [2] <[email protected]> -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.1.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
