FAT and VFAT permissions are a subset of standard POSIX permissions.
Most notably, there is no "owner" stored in the filesystem-- it is
passed as a mount option.

You might try this set of options instead:

    fmask=0644,dmask=0755,uid=bjosch

changing fmask and dmask to 0600 and 0700, respectively, if you don't
want other users to be able to read the files.
