It doesn't get that far -- AFAIK that's only to do with cropping. The problem I am having is that it can't read the disc in the first place. Thanks for the suggestion, though! > You might want to rip using dvdbackup and encode from hard disk. This does seem to shed some light, thanks... When using dvdbackup, I get some information out about the disc, but also a lot of the following: libdvdread: Get key for /VIDEO_TS/VIDEO_TS.VOB at 0x00000123 libdvdread: Elapsed time 1 libdvdread: Get key for /VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_0.VOB at 0x000026f0 libdvdread: Error cracking CSS key for /VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_0.VOB (0x000026f0) libdvdread: Elapsed time 1 libdvdread: Get key for /VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_1.VOB at 0x000026f5 libdvdread: Error cracking CSS key for /VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_1.VOB (0x000026f5)!! libdvdread: Elapsed time 0 libdvdread: Get key for /VIDEO_TS/VTS_02_0.VOB at 0x00002727 libdvdread: Error cracking CSS key for /VIDEO_TS/VTS_02_0.VOB (0x00002727) libdvdread: Elapsed time 1 libdvdread: Get key for /VIDEO_TS/VTS_02_1.VOB at 0x00002829 libdvdread: Error cracking CSS key for /VIDEO_TS/VTS_02_1.VOB (0x00002829)!! libdvdread: Elapsed time 0 libdvdread: Found 2 VTS's libdvdread: Elapsed time 3 Then when tyring to backup the whole DVD: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dvdbackup -M -i /dev/hdc -o /tmp/ntnon2/ libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.8 for DVD access Error reading BUP for title set 0 Mirror of VMG failed Mirror of DVD failed [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ Has Apple done something sneaky and put a crippled drive in my computer? bye just now, -- Matthew T.
