Forgot to insert my yaboot.conf ... sorry:
The following helps me booting *at least* to 2.6.10 .. I'm not sure I
ever tried booting the rest of the kernels from the following yaboot.conf.
And as you can see, I only have a line
device=hd:
not the complicated incantation you have in your "device=" line:
