I was able to run LinuxPPC on my TP850 for some time with a few problems -- mostly to do with the display. You don't stand a chance of keeping AIX on it at the same time, but I was able to configure it to boot an external scsi disk by playing with the scsi id's on the system at the boot menu. You'll need the diag pieces from AIX (bos.diag.*) and the accounting pieces (bos.acct.*) in order to properly configure the boot with ipl_varyon before setting linux and AIX to work together (albeit on separate drives). This might be a lot to handle if you're new to this end of things . . . but good luck. Feel free to contact me directly ([EMAIL PROTECTED]).
