When I boot into Debian on my PowerMac 4400/200, the xdm logon screen pops up, but when I log in, the system thinks for a few seconds, and then returns to the logon screen. It's not a password problem, because I can put in a bad password and get the same result but with a message saying "invalid login". That message is not there when I use the correct password.
If I Ctrl-(Command-?)Alt-F1 to the first virtual terminal, I can log in and then start X manually with the "startx -- :1" command. Apparently Debian PowerPC does things differently enough from the i386 flavor that I can't quite sort out what's happening. Any ideas? Thanks! -- Kent West [EMAIL PROTECTED]
