Great! Thanks to that kernel and copy of the linuxppc cd w/ live filesystem, I was able to use debugfs to remove the journaling system from root. Course, now root isn't protected, but unless someone spends some time making quik recognize reiserfs, jfs, or ext3 partitions needing recovery, there's no way around that. Most of my filesystem structure is split off onto other partitions anyway... Thanks again, Peter
