ive installed debian 2.2 on a G4 also.. no usb probs when bootin to the text prompt. the only probs i ran into is when i installed xfree86 and xdm, i had to symlink /dev/mouse to /dev/usbmouse, and then startx would work and xdm would work.. but u logged in and went into the X console, the mouse wouldnt work anyway. i dont know anything bout X however, i figured my etc/X11/XF86Config file was not configged yet. other then the X probs and finding rite drivers and xservers for the ati128 pro agp that comes with the G4's, debian seems to work fine for the PPC. ive heard of a program called 'dexter' that supposedly configs ur XF86Config file well, but havent been able to find it. has anyone been able to get their X setup with an accelerated driver and xserver on a G4?
