Does the right shift work while on the console? If not, then it's the same problem I had, which was solved by getting one of those so called Extended keyboards. Suddenly everything works fine. There is a point during the installation where it asks you to identify your keyboard, regular or extended. Maybe I selected extended and my punishment for guessing wrong was the right shift didn't work. I don't know what to do to fix it after a system is installed, because all I thought that part of the installation did was select a keycodes file anyway, which isn't the problem. a
