actually, if you build your kernel with [x] sound card support and then enable only powermac dma support and oss sound modules, ogg works just fine. set the output of xmms to oss of course - it does not work correctly with esound. on the other hand, plaympeg only seems to sync correctly when outputting to esound. so, you still kinda hafta play the work-around game. john -- john wood systems administrator, gmo inc
