Hello again!

I want to change my charset from iso8859-1 to iso8859-15.
Box runs Woody with XF4.1

Therefore I changed /etc/environment and /etc/profile to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
iso8859-15 and with console-tools I was successful to see the euro-sign.

But with X (:-/)
(BTW german-keyboards ... worked ok with iso8859-1)

What I did (following a FAQ adapted from HP's recommendations):

1.) apt-get install 'xfonts.*transcoded'
2.) Gnome-Control-Center - Themes: choose a font with gtkfontsel with
 filter iso8859-15
3.) For XTerm in /etc/X11/app.defaults/XTerm following line:
     *font:   -masc-fixed-medium-r-normal-*-*-120-*-*c-*-iso8859-15
4.) restarting X and
           xset fp rehash

After that done, I still have no euro-sign with xterm, and I get the
following error when evoking emacs or a application using GDB:
   locale not supported by Xlib, locale set to C

BTW: locale gives:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
LC_CTYPE="[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
LC_NUMERIC="[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
LC_TIME="[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
LC_COLLATE="[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
LC_MONETARY="[EMAIL PROTECTED]"

LC_NAME="[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
LC_ADDRESS="[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
LC_TELEPHONE="[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
LC_MEASUREMENT="[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
LC_ALL=

Any help and hints are warmley appreciated

TIA
