As I'm booting 2.4.12 on a Power Computing 180, I see some messages which i don't see when booting 2.2.19. Should I be concerned about these:
1) Changed to 80x25 display (under 2.2.19 I get 128x48). 2) insmod: modprobe: cannot create /var/log/ksymoops/20011124.log Read-only file system insmod: /lib/modules/2.4.12-powerpc/kernel/net/unix/unix.o: cannot create /var/log/ksymoops/20011124090022.ksyms Read-only file system insmod: cannot create /var/log/ksymoops/20011124.log Read-only file system (these messages come before the Activating swap message). 3) task 'ifconfig' exit-signal 17 in reparent-to-init 4) Intel PCIC probes not found. ds: no socket drivers loaded! Also, I noticed 'Calculating module dependencies' takes about 10 seconds; I don't notice it stopping there with 2.2.19. -- *----------------------------------------------------------------* | .''`. | Debian GNU/Linux: <http://www.debian.org> | | : :' : | debian-imac: <http://debian-imac.sourceforge.net> | | `. `'` | Chris Tillman [EMAIL PROTECTED] | | `- | May the Source be with you | *----------------------------------------------------------------*
