        Hi, Brian.

Well, I've noticed that problem also and I've filed a bug:
        http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=127033&repeatmerged=yes

The maintainer of the package has told me that it will be
fixed in the next version of xmms. I just hope that they don't
delay it, because it would be more useful if it were included
in woody for release, of course. :-)

Unfortunately, I don't know what hardware a Pismo uses, which
means that it could be a different soundchip, but at least one
thing we have in common: I'm also using a 2.4.17 kernel
        (-ben0).
