Ahh... I strongly suggest to upgrade to woody and XF 4.1 (or even better
yet, XF4.2 which you can find on Michel Daenzer's site on penguinppc:
http://penguinppc.org/~daenzer/XFree86-4.2/).

That will have much better support for your relatively new hardware.

If you do upgrade, I also suggest using a BenH kernel (have a look at
penguinppc.org).
