I suggest using the benh kernel anyway (http://master.penguinppc.org/~benh/), or do you have any special reason not to do so?
To get it: mkdir /usr/src/benh_kernel rsync -avz rsync.penguinppc.org::linux-2.4-benh /usr/src/benh_kernel to compile: cd /usr/src/benh_kernel sudo make xconfig make-kpkg ... sudo dpkg -i ... then make the correct symlinks, edit yaboot.conf and execute ybin jonas -----Original Message----- From: William Crowshaw [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, July 17, 2002 9:14 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Rolling my own Powerpc kernel from Debian sources I was going to upgrade my powerpc to kernel 2.2.19, when I noticed that there isn't a kernel-image of 2.2.19 for the powerpc. So I found the source and have decided to roll my own. I have one question though...I noticed that there was a kernel-patch 2.2.19 for the powerpc debian package. Opening this package, I found that it doesn't seem to be a traditional diff. I was wondering, therefore, how I apply this kernel-patch to make my kernel 2.2.19 for the powerpc. Many thanks for the information will be GREATLY appreciated. W. Crowshaw please e-mail reply as well as post. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
