hello the problem i believe is that the ibook cd plauer is not connected directly to the soundcard as in a pc. to play a cd, you need to stream the data off the cd and precess it into audio with a program like alsaplayer or xmms.
i could not get alsaplayer to work at all on my tibook but that was a couple of months ago - maybe its fixed now. xmms seemed to work for mp3s, but i have not tried playing cds with it ( i think there is a cd reading plug in for xmms). cheers matthew On Fri, 2 Aug 2002 12:31:02 +0200 Jesus Climent <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Has anyone with an iBook2 DualUSB got the CD playing audio output > through the audio card? > > I can play mp3/ogg perfect, and after last sync (rc5-ben0) I seem not to > get any more glitches in the mixer (with headphones). > > But I am still missing the possibility of using cdcd on console to play > cds... > > Anyone? > > TIA. > > -- > Jesus Climent | Unix System Admin | Helsinki, Finland. > http://www.HispaLinux.es/~data/ | data.pandacrew.org > ------------------------------------------------------ > Please, encrypt mail address to me: GnuPG ID: 86946D69 > FP: BB64 2339 1CAA 7064 E429 7E18 66FC 1D7F 8694 6D69 > ------------------------------------------------------ > Registered Linux user #66350 Debian 3.0 & Linux 2.4.19 > > This was to be my final hit, but let's be clear about this.
