Continued "Non native USB Mac" Hi List
My configuration: Beige G3 MT 333, 256MB, ATI64 PCI OrangeMicro FireWire+USB Utrawide SCSI (sym53c8xx) Voodoo2 3dfx My distribution: Debian r3, 7 CD set (downloaded images for PPC) My problem: I tried different kernels (vmlinux, wmlinux24, linux.bin) with BootX122. They all lead to the same: The system freezes at various random steps: - setup network interface - usb.c: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 1 - kernel panic - and so on... I finally decided to remove my USB card and everything was fine until I had to configure my system with tasksel: I need the space bar to select packages and the space bar of my ADB keyboard is dead (this is precisely why I bought USB card and devices). So, what should I do as the kernel does not seem to like my USB card? I cannot proceed without USB as my ADB keyboard's space bar is dead. Any idea? Is there a chance that getting some working ADB keyboard I could install Debian and recompile a working kernel? (I have NO clue about how to do that) Thanks in advance. Cheers Fred
