you don't need to install over and over, remember linux is neither MacOS
neither windows, ther's always a solution.
boot on the installer CD, and go to the console (either "execute a
shell" installer entry, either by pressing option arrow.)
console2 gives you a minimalistic but usefull shell.
mount your partition fix your settings, and voila ;-)
