heh, funny you mention that - they were interleaved, but not now. (i was having SEGVs, so i had to check if they were going bad or not (not the case, phew). i'll leave them like they are now, and see if it makes a difference (not changing anything else), and then try a compile with the non-essentials turned off. btw, is there any way at all to mount hfs volumes over a network - appletalk or nfs, when the other volumes are under a more, um, primitive os?
