Just a note... Marc Boucher released a new version of the driver for the internal "softmodem" found in all recent Apple machines. The new version works much better and finally shouldn't need a call to "hcfusbconfig" between each use ;)
Hopefully, the NO DIALTONE problem should be gone too. Still known problem: If you put the machine to sleep with the driver loaded, it will crash on next use. You should unload the driver (using "hcfusbstop") before putting the machine to sleep, put that either in your ppp scripts when disconnecting, or in your pwrctl scripts before sleep, though that won't work if the serial port is still opened.
