Today I stress tested this new patch a little. At first galnce everything works well. If the cpu heats over 51C the fan switches on (6700), reaching 59C switches to 8700. If the cpu cools down again the fan switches to 6700 at 55C and of at 48C. Interesting enough, when I have my endless loops run longer the machine crashes. One time it crashed after about 10 minutes, one time after half an hour of full fan speed. the first time the heating rate was quite fast. The temperature reached 60C and stayed there till the crash. The second time the heating was slower due to an open window. But here also the temperature never exceeded 60C, whereas with the second patch the temperature went to 63C and more for a short while and nothing happened. Best regards, Wolfi
