192.168.1.20(RS/6000) is NOT a valid ip-address.

*EXACTLY* what is the string you use?
Should be something like this
" boot net:192.168.1.1,vmlinux-2.6.8,192.168.1.20"
assuming that the ip of the server is 192.168.1.1 and the kernel is
called vmlinux-2.6.8
