You can calibrate it if you can get code running on the chip fast enough to take a measurement before the temperature significantly changes. The error is mostly just an offset. There is very little non-linear error. One or two data points should do. You can use room temperature, refrigerated, and/or sauna temperature. Unfortunately for you, getting code to run quickly is not an easy task. You need to modify the firmware.
