powerpc is limited to what can be ported to powerpc fortunately the only files ive ever had problems with are very recent wmv files. all the mpeg4 type files work fine, avi mkv work fine, ogg audio, mp3 audio
you may just need to install the additional codecs from the mplayer unofficial repository. i recall that 'apt-get install mplayer' was fairly lean. Dean Shreyas Ananthan wrote:
