Hi folks! Just saw 2.6.16 was out and decide to give it a try. I copied mi .config from 2.6.15.6, did a 'make oldconfig' and after answering some questions I issued a 'make-kpkg kernel-image'.
Compilation went smooth and I obtained linux-image-2.6.15.6_pbook.1_powerpc.deb. My gcc version is 4.0.3 (Debian 4.0.3-1). After booting with this kernel I've observed kernel oopses like the ones reproduced later. At first it seems to work ok but I've no sound, so I've ditched it and continue using 2.6.15.x. Any ideas about what can be happening here (probably I've missed some option to make Alsa work ok). Thanks for your time and help. A.
