Hummm, this is strange, since I just grabbed the .17-rc1 patch, recompiled a kernel for my oldworld and I am quite happy using it. I'm talking about a PowerMac 9500 here. I've been using gmail as my "repository" now and I can forward the .deb that I made, if it is of any interest.
