Hi there, After some research I found what went wrong. As I told you, I installed Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 on the /dev/sda10 partition Then I mounted the MacOS 9 volume on /mnt/MacOS And I copied the kernel and initrd from /boot to /mnt/MacOS
The problem is that these two files on the MacOS 9 partition are somehow "corrupted" ! Look: debian:~# md5sum /boot/vmlinux-2.6.18-4-powerpc 9b7346be276f7873b717075cbf584a91 /boot/vmlinux-2.6.18-4-powerpc debian:~# md5sum /boot/initrd.img-2.6.18-4-powerpc 30f9aabf11f050dc3ce85adf0e1522a1 /boot/initrd.img-2.6.18-4-powerpc debian:~# md5sum "/mnt/MacOS/Desktop Folder/Debian GNU:Linux/vmlinux- 2.6.18-4-powerpc" 1b78662af46a953c08a3905b8cacb0f5 /mnt/MacOS/Desktop Folder/Debian GNU:Linux/vmlinux-2.6.18-4-powerpc debian:~# md5sum /mnt/MacOS/Desktop\ Folder/Debian\ GNU\:Linux/initrd.img- 2.6.18-4-powerpc f86596004a7181574929ac740e4621d9 /mnt/MacOS/Desktop Folder/Debian GNU:Linux/initrd.img- 2.6.18-4-powerpc To find out about this, I had to boot with another kernel, then sftp the working kernel and initrd from boot to another machine. Then reboot in MacOS 9 and save these files from the Apache server of the other machine. Then it finally worked :) Thank you, -- Pierre Bauduin Linux enthusiast since 1996 Debian GNU/Linux user Linux Registered User #64711 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
