If it is not possible to persuade it to use ALSA, then you will have to emulate OSS via either kernel emulation or aoss wrapper (available in repos as 'alsa-oss'). It has been some time since I had to resort to that king of tricks so I cannot guide you through it. Read package docs or google it as it should be pretty straightforward.
