Benjamin, the yaboot.conf I posted was just an example for I can't properly remember, not to mention read, my yaboot.conf anymore. The only thing I know for sure is, that macosx resides on /dev/hda3 (not hda4 like in this probably faulty example conf). Consider it as a typical dual boot conf without any tweaks or so. Sorry that this was misleading.
Well, I *hope* the disk is not faulty. I can't imagine that the plug somehow disconnected. Either a disk has a power connection or not. Or it has a slack joint. But then the disk is present, not present and so on. The macosx disk tool (booted from the rescue CD) recognizes a 20 GB disk. Besides there are the dmesg messages. But in the end I'll check that anyway because I see a disassemble... Yeah, as long as I am able to get hold of the disk I'll have a look at it with fdisk. Right, no yaboot, no OS at all. White screen means just a white screen. No apple logo, nothing. OpenFirmware works though. So that is what I have in mind so far: - target mode with another mac - disassambling the disk/checking the cable connections - putting the disk in another computer - checking it with testdisk (hope it can deal with macosx stuff) - putting my old disk (with macosx) or even a new one in the mac to see whether it has another hw- issue Cheers, john -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/Disk-screwed-up-with-ybin-tp31432304p31440880.html Sent from the debian-powerpc mailing list archive at Nabble.com. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
