I thought I would put an update on this thread. I finally was able to mesa patches for the r300 driver to work. I was not correctly applying the patches the last time I tried. I decided to revisit and this used the "--dry-run" option to verify they were correctly applying. Now I have 3D on my iBook G4 with falling back to 16 on my screen depth!
