I was also considering installing kodi on my Mac Mini G4, but it seems the Debian package only allow the GUI installation not a headless one using the framebuffer. -M On Tue, May 31, 2016 at 11:49 AM, Richard Kuenz <[email protected]> wrote: > thanks, > > i was able to run sound on the powerpc. > > what helped me was this here > > https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PowerPCFAQ > > section "why do i have no sound" > > > i run > sudo rm /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.local.conf > > than sudo nano /etc/modules > > > and activate >> >> snd-aoa-i2sbus > > > uncommenting snd_powermac > > and other snd-.... > > > but, > > graphic is so slow with 9600 xt 128 mb that i am not able to run kodi > decently which is strange. > > i am wondering if it would be better with ultra 6800 dual. > > cheers > > > On 31.05.2016 09:03, Mathieu Malaterre wrote: >> >> On Fri, May 27, 2016 at 10:25 PM, Richard Kuenz >> <[email protected]> wrote: >>> >>> Hello , >>> >>> i am on a fresh install of Debian Wheezy kernel 3.2 on Powermac G5 Dual >>> (model 7,3) with Radeon 9600XT - very nice. >>> >>> atm i am compiling Mpv player >>> >>> Can someone please give me a hint how to enable sound on this machine? >> >> >> Did you check this page: >> >> https://wiki.debian.org/PowerPC/SoundCards
