Package: hplip
Version: 3.10.5-3.2
Severity: normal

I have a D2660. If I print while the printer is unplugged or
turned off, I still get status notifications that printing
has started and completed successfully. Then I plug the
printer in, and see the following in syslog:

Jul 3 19:55:05 maggie kernel: [390445.368077] usb 1-3: new high speed USB
device using ehci_hcd and address 19

Jul 3 19:55:07 maggie hal_lpadmin: Printer Deskjet_D2600_series exists but is
disabled, reason: /usr/lib/cups/filter/hpcups failed; use 'cupsenable
Deskjet_D2600_series' to enable it

When I run `cupsenable Deskjet_D2600_series`, printing starts
for the job that I printed earlier while it was unplugged, it
completes successfully and I get a status notification that
it finished. syslog then contains the following:

Jul 3 19:55:15 maggie kernel: [390455.306909] usblp0: removed
Jul 3 19:55:16 maggie hal_lpadmin: remove
Jul 3 19:55:16 maggie hal_lpadmin: Found configured printer:
Deskjet_D2600_series

It seems like /usr/lib/cups/filter/hpcups could automatically run `cupsenable`
when it detects this condition. Or, is this a bug in package hal-cups-utils?

Thanks. --mark--
