Thanks Jonathan for the update. I just have one little question -- hope someone on printing team can answer: Who makes the /dev/usb/lp0 device? On my working wheezy system it would come and go when the printer was switched on and off. On the upgraded and non-working debian it does not appear.
Will be grateful for tips on this. So is it made by udev? hal? cups?
