I passed the bug report but I do not have enough knowledge of the language issue. I reopen the bug and transfers your answer. Since you've already solved a similar problem you are able to discuss with upstream better than me. If the bug is present for so long it is likely that you provide a patch if you care for it to be resolved. I could not do it for you unfortunately.
