It would be great if I was warned when I try to shut down or reboot
while my printer is still printing. Hopefully, there could be a dialog
box easy enough for my mom to understand. The following dialog box
wording with an hourglass animation seems appropriate:
"Your computer is waiting for your printer to finish before it will
shut down. Please wait. Or, click below to shut down immediately and
pause printing, or to cancel the impending shutdown.
<Shutdown Now> <Cancel Shutdown>"
If the above is not possible, I would appreciate it if:
1. after I powered my PC up again, CUPS ejected the page that were half-printed
2. then, it resumed printing from exactly the page where it left off.
Background: Like most people, I have a slow inkjet printer. I use KDE
and CUPS on Debian Testing, last upgraded three or four months ago. I
have kdeprint installed.

It has been mentioned by Josselin Mouette that system-config-printer-applet
could fulfill your needs. Otherwise there is systemd-inhibit. Therefore
closing this report. Thank you for submitting it.

Brian.
